"As they were talking and thinking about what had happened, Jesus came near and started walking along beside them." (Luke 24:14,15) “The cross, though it has at its heart a collision and a contradiction, can extend its four arms for ever without altering its shape. Because it has a paradox in its centre it can grow without changing. The cross opens its arms to the four winds; it is a signpost for free travelers.” - G.K. Chesterton, "Orthodoxy"

It's funny that nobody is picking up on the Putin/Augustus similarities. Putin is working the same magic that Augustus did, huh?
Man Augustus and Putin do have a lot in common when you think about it.
Of the top of my head, I can think about how they somehow blend "Democracy" with autocracy.
They both on way or the other "proscribed" a lot of members of the oligarchy.
They were handpicked by their predecessors and highly underestimated when they came in.
I'm sure if I research I could find a lot more...
But I feel Putin does have a Marc Antony... oh well please feel free to comment.
